In the autumn semester of 2026, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) invites students from European Reform University Alliance (ERUA) partner universities to Vilnius, Lithuania, to take part in the international intensive course “Therapeutic Perspectives as Lenses: Experience, Reflection and Arts-Based Learning.”
This 3 ECTS hybrid course will take place on 7–11 December 2026. It will begin with an online introductory meeting on 3 December. The intensive week will include short theoretical introductions, practical and experiential activities, reflection, and arts-based learning. It will also include video case analysis, group discussions, and reflective journal writing.
Students will explore major contemporary therapeutic perspectives as different “lenses” for understanding human experience, emotions, relationships, behaviour, and thinking.
The course will give students space to observe, experience, reflect, and discuss. They will explore emotional and relational processes, develop empathy and self-awareness, and connect psychological theory with real-life experience.
A visit to MO Museum will offer another space for reflection and arts-based learning. Through art, dialogue, and observation, students will explore different ways of seeing and understanding human experience.
Students will also work in international groups. They will create and lead experiential activities inspired by selected therapeutic perspectives. The course will support creativity, intercultural dialogue, openness to different views, and reflection on personal and professional values.
On 9 December, students will also join the celebration of ERUA Day. This will be an opportunity to meet members of the wider ERUA community, connect with students and colleagues from different backgrounds, and experience the international spirit of the alliance.
The course is mainly intended for Bachelor’s and Master’s students in Psychology. Students from related fields, including Social Work, Social Pedagogy, Education, Counselling, and other human-centred disciplines, are also welcome to apply.
Basic knowledge of psychology is recommended. The language of instruction is English (minimum B2 level).
Twenty places are available for ERUA students, with the application deadline on 9 October 2026.
