Human Rights LAB Presents Events to Mark the Day From Dec. 7th

Dec. 7-11th, 2015, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) will be presenting a series of events on campus to mark International Human Rights Day (celebrated Dec. 10th).

There will be a film presented, conferences, discussions and an agreement signed with the Human Rights Monitoring Institute to cooperate on research.

Dec. 7th, 2015, 9:30 a.m., in I-414, the international conference, "Refugees in Lithuania - Perspectives on Integration," will be held at MRU.

The conference is organized by the Seimas Human Rights Committee, the MRU Human Rights LAB; the Lithuanian Government's Chancellor's Office; MRU's Politics and Management Faculty's Institute of Management; the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Office in Lithuania and Lithuania's Red Cross Association.

Dec. 8th, 15:30 hrs., at the MRU LAB building (Didlaukio g. 55), there will be a cooperation agreement signed with the Human Rights Monitoring Institute to conduct research.

Dec. 9th, MRU Human Rights LAB representatives will attend a ceremonial Seimas meeting to mark the 20th anniversary of the Human Rights Committee.

At 16:30 hrs., at the MRU LAB, the documentary film on migrants, "Beveik Švedija" (Almost Sweden) will be screened. MRU Debate Club members will take part in the discussion.

Dec. 10th, at 10 a.m., there will be a conference held at the Seimas Ombudsman's Office of the Republic of Lithuania (Gedimino pr. 56, Vilnius) to mark the 20th anniversary of the Office. MRU Law Faculty Dean Prof. L. Jakulevičienė will present a paper, "Human Rights in International and Lithuanian Law."

Dec. 11th, 9:00 - 17:00 hrs., in MRU's I-414 aud., there will be an international conference, "Past and Future Issues and Challenges of Prevention of International Crimes and the Rise of Intolerance." It is organized by MRU's Law Faculty and the MRU Security LAB.
