The deepening economic globalisation fosters and makes political integration inevitable. The importance for closer political integration was emphasised by Jose Manuel Barroso and Jean-Claude Junker in 2012 and 2017 respectively. The deepening integration will undoubtedly effect its member states as well as countries outside the EU. Graduates of this programme are a new type of professionals having skills and competencies enable to analyse critically the European Union’s policies, understand its institutional structure and decision making process.

Permanent Representation of Lithuania to the EU

The topic of EU has been always at the most importance, it remains relevant in nowadays. The influence of EU surrounds us in various economic and social areas. However, for better understanding how all EU system works you should gain some knowledge. The program itself gives you an overview of different EU policy areas, institutional structure and EU law. And I confidently say that MRU is one the best places to do it. I have started my Master Thesis almost at the same time as my working in the Ministry of Agriculture. So, while I was having some duties to represent particular issues in the meetings in Brussels I have used an excellent opportunity to apply theoretical intelligence in reality and it is still relevant for recent position. I really liked the MRU’s facilities libraries, auditoriums. The academic community was warm and always ready to help. I am pretty sure that the topic of EU administration and policy will never be abandoned as EU itself covers a lot of policies and takes the leadership’s role in many different areas and of course will leave positive footprint.

MRU students benefit from studying at one of the most dynamic research institutions, where the faculty dedicates their time and energy to teach and mentor. University has exelent library, where to study comes student also from other universities. First of all what I would like to emphasise is the flexibility from university and teachers. Teachers are always ready to help you and adjust to students needs. Second thing is what is now hapenning in the world and Europe as very dinamic and important and this program prepares us to deal with those issues. Presently we are the observers of the events, which will change the face of Europe. Having all that on mind, its becoming very important to understand how EU functions, its institutions. This program heled me understand one important thing, that EU is very complicated institution from one side, but from other side, that we all are creating EU, and how it is important to cooperate between countries, in order to achieve our goals. Another thing what I understood is that EU is a guarantor of my civil and human rights.
