    Vilnius "Žalgiris-MRU" Women's Football Team Won Gold

    The first weekend in March, the Vilnius "Žalgiris-MRU" Women's Football Team participated in Lithuania's Women's Indoor Football Championships 2020 and brought home the gold after they beat the women's team from Panevėžys, "Panevėžys-PRSSG" 4:3 in Prienai. At one point the result was even, but we remained coolheaded, despite all the emotion and uncertainty until the end, said one of the team's championship players Ugnė Slankauskaitė.

    Gold Medals for MRU-Rosk Consulting Chess Team

    Nov. 23-24th, 2019, the MRU-ROSK Consulting Chess Team won Lithuania's "Žaibas" and Fast Chess Tournaments in Panevėžys. Having just returned from a successful European Club Cup Tournament in Montenegro, the team, which includes IM Tomas Laurušas, Andrius Brazdžionis, FM Tautvydas Vedrickas, Jovita Vedrickienė, placed first in both Lithuanian tournaments. Their coach is International Master Vaidas Sakalauskas.

    MRU Chess Champions Bring Home the Gold

    Oct. 18-19th, 2019, among 180 participants in Lithuania's Lightening and Fast Track Chess Championship held in the Taujėnų Manor near Ukmergė, 3 MRU chess players won gold medals.Lithuania's Men's Champion and MRU student Tomas Laurušas added two more gold medals to his collection. In the Women's Tournament, MRU Assoc. Prof. Salomėja Zaksaitė won gold.

    Computer Engineer @ World Masters Orienteering Championships in Riga

    July 5th-12th, 2019, MRU Senior Computer Engineer Rimvydas Bertašius participated in the World Masters Orienteering Championships held in Riga. There were 3 stages of the event. Bertašius had qualified for the sprint event and competed to place in the A Final. There were about 160 participants in my age group (M45) of which only half qualify for the A Final, he told MRU's Health and Sports Centre. Bertašius placed 44th of 81 athletes in the Long Final.

    June 25th, 2019, China's 11-member "Guangdong Southern Tigers" Basketball Team from Dongguan was warming up and working out before their game against "Sostinės Krepšinio Mokyklos" Team U17 that was held June 25-26th. The Basketball Team is coached by Paulius Juodis.

    "MRU-ROSK Consulting" Team Wins LT Chess League Tournament

    April 28th, 2019, making history, the "MRU-ROSK Consulting" Team won Lithuania's Chess League (LŠL) Tournament held in Kaunas. It was held in 3 stages with 20 teams competing for medals and the right to play in the European Chess Cup Championships in Montenegro. The MRU-ROSK Consulting Team won all 7 matches and for the first time in history were declared the winners. Team coach is International Chess Master Vaidas Sakalauskas.

    MRU Student Wins 2nd Place in MRU Chess Tournament

    March 29th, 2019, MRU student Andrius Brazdžionis won 2nd place in the open MRU "Žaibas" Chess Tournament for the "ROSK Consulting" Cup. International Master and Lithuanian Chess Champion Tomas Laurušas won first place with 8,5 points of 9 possible. Third place went to MRU Alumnus and FIDE Master Tautvydas Vedrickas.     March 21st, 2019, MRU Law Prof. Vytautas Sinkevičius and Faculty of Economics and Business Lecturer Dr. Vytautas Azbainis won the Table Tennis Tournament Among Higher Education Institution employees in their age groups. It was held at the Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) Sports Centre. There were 17 employees from 5 different universities that took part.

    March 21st, 2019, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Bachelor's Degree student Andrius Brazdžionis placed 2nd among 82 chess players in Lithuania's Chess Championships 2019 held in Vilnius March 15-21st. After 9 rounds, he came in 2nd after chess champ Tomas Laurušas.
