    Fun & Games: Student "High Living" Dorm Contest to Begin

    From Oct. 23rd - Dec. 1st, 2018, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) students living in dormitories, are invited to take place in a "Student High Living" competition pitting students from various dorm room floors in games, competitions and sports activities. Each dorm floor will constitute a student team. The Contest, which will be underway until December, will result in prizes and a trip for the winning dormitory floor students.

  • MRU Athletes Top Charts, Won 15 Gold Medals

    During the 2017/2018 academic year, MRU university students won 15 gold, 27 silver and 26 bronze medals and placed 4th among 15 institutions of higher education in Lithuania, according to the number of sports medals. First place went to the Lithuanian Sports University (LSU); 2nd - Vilnius University; 3rd - Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU).

    Student Runner Simas Bertašius Breaks Another Record

    Over the weekend, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) student, champion runner Simas Bertašius broke another record in the 1500 m category with a 39,88 second run in the Athletics Championships held in Ogre, Latvia. The time allows him to meet the normative requirement for participating in the 2018 European Athletics Championships in Berlin Aug. 7-12th, 2018. On June 2nd, in Utena, Bertašius broke a 31-yr-old standing record to become the fastest runner in Lithuania the 1500 m category with a 40,41 second time during the LLAF tournament.

    MRU Student Bertašius Breaks 31-Yr Old Record to Become Fastest in LT

    June 2nd, 2018, MRU Master's Degree Faculty of Public Governance Faculty student Simas Bertašius broke a 31-year-old standing record (1500 m) set by Pavel Fedorenka in 1987 to become the fastest in Lithuania.     SELL GAMES: Law Student Jokūbas Stasiulis Won Gold Medal

    May 17th-20th, 2018, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Law Faculty student Jokūbas Stasiulis, participating in the SELL Student Games in Tartu, Estonia, won a gold medal in power lifting in his weight category. There were 10 students from MRU participating in the Games including 2 judo reps, 3 chess players and 3 power lifters.

    Law Prof. Vytautas Sinkevičius Wins Table Tennis Tournament

    May 3rd, 2018, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Law Faculty Prof. Vytautas Sinkevičius won the Table Tennis Tournament held on campus. The 66-year-old professor defeated Erasmus students, Antonio Jose Navarro from Spain and Oleg Pavlišin from Ukraine, to become the champion. Fourth place went to Communication Institute Lecturer Assoc. Prof. Valdas Dambrava.

    MRU-ROSK Consulting Chess Team Wins Silver Medals

    April 14-15th, 2018, the MRU-ROSK Consulting Chess Team won silver medals in Lithuania's Chess League Tournament that was held in Kaunas. The Kaunas "Ežerėlis vaivorykštės" Team won gold. Bronze medals went to the Kaunas "Margiris-1" Team. MRU-ROSK Consulting Chess Team player Tomas Laurušas was the 2nd best chess player, according to points, helping the team to victory.

    MRU Awarded 10,000 EUR to Renovate Sports Recreation Areas

    In March, Lithuania's Department of Physical Education and Sports Support Fund's Council awarded Mykolas Romeris University's Health and Sports Centre 10,000 Eur to renovate MRU recreational areas. Funds were allocated after MRU submitted a project, "Renovation of the Didlaukis Community Sports Recreation Area."

    Soccer Tournament Marked Anniversary of Lithuania's Independence Restoration

    March 11th, 2018, (Sun.), during an international soccer tournament in Vilnius, MRU's Soccer Team won 3rd place. They were overtaken by winners "Autoplaza" and Vilnius University of Applied Science team, which won 2nd place. The tournament marked the anniversary of Lithuania's Restoration of Independence.

    March 6th, 2018, the Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Basketball Team, coached by Vytautas Poteliūnas, 81-66 defeated "Tegra" team and won the Aleksas Makulavičius Trophy Cup.
