Prof. Rimvydas Jasinavičius Discusses Need for More Educated Citizens

jasinaviciuss Oct. 19th, the daily Lithuanian newspaper, "Respublika" published an interview with Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Prof. Rimvydas Jasinavičius.

He discussed the state of higher education in Lithuania and the need to have a higher number of educated citizens.

In Lithuania, about 21% of citizens have completed higher education. Lithuania remains 4th from the bottom among EU-countries in the number of citizens that have completed higher education.

Prof. Jasinavičius said that in countries with a larger number of educated citizens, graduates are able to use their acquired intellectual capital to create and implement more innovations.

Jasinavičius is a member of MRU's Faculty of Economics and Finance Management and is the Faculty Council's Chairman.
