MRU Successfully Implementing Internationalization

viliunas2011gied May 7th, the weekly "Veidas" reports that MRU, having selected internationalization as its most strategic goal several years ago, is successfully working in this direction.

MRU Vice-Rector for Education Assoc. Prof. Giedrius Viliūnas (see photo) said MRU has been able to successfully foster international study ties in the last few years.

A few years ago MRU awarded its first joint study diplomas along with universities in Austria and Finland. Now there are several such joint study programmes, including one with a South Korean university.

Vice-Rector Viliūnas is convinced that a joint degree has many advantages: students can become acquainted with several higher education systems, various lecturers and academics, study not only in Lithuanian, but in other languages.

A person's horizons expand and one is better prepared for one's career, he added.

Employers - in Lithuania and abroad - find the joint degrees attractive, he added.
