MRU Alum Martūnas Expands Horizons After "App Camp" Exit

Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) graduate Tomas Martūnas, who has been heading the mobile applications company, "App Camp," is moving on, expanding his horizons.

Martūnas has joined the holding company, LTk Capital, which manages industry food giant Čili Holdings and e-commerce firms.

The former "App Camp" head says such changes were destiny and influenced by people he met.

These two factors helped me find a new career challenge, Martūnas told the online business start-up magazine, "bznStart."

"In business, it's more important who you know, than what you know - everything revolves around connections," Martūnas says. Of course, they're worth nothing without competency and results, he adds.

At LTk Capital he hopes to implement those plans, which it would not have been possible to do at "App Camp."

I need to expand, to have ambitions. LTk Capital, along with its head Tadas Karosas and our invested strong e and m-Commerce start-up leaders and their teams, show promise. So, the decision came forth from here, he said.

Looking back, the last three years was an interesting journey.

"I believe that the new "App Camp" owners will continue the projects that have been started. So, everything will be not only great, but even better," he added.

What's down the road? It leads to the wide, wide world.

There are plenty of projects and plans, he says.

I'm really happy about the success of earlier investments, for example to African social marketplace, "Mobofree.com." This company has more than 4-million clients and is in a leading position in Nigeria and successfully entering the Zimbabwe and Uganda markets, he said.

Now, all my attention is focused on the LTk Capital fund e and mobile Commerce and solar energy start-up growth in Africa and other large markets, he said.
