Law Prof. Doubts New Arrest Warrant Will Speed up Bankers' Extradition

zilinskasjustprof June 6th, the online news website delfi.lt published an article on a new arrest warrant issued for bankers involved in the failed "Snoras" bank.

MRU Law Faculty Prof. Justinas Žilinskas is quoted as saying he doubts the new arrest warrant will speed up extradition of the "Snoras" bankers Vladimir Antonov and Raimondas Baranauskas to Lithuania. They are now in Great Britain.

Last Friday, June 1st, a third European arrest warrant was issued for the two bankers.

Professor Žilinskas said that Great Britain is known for the fact that it treats "rather freely" European arrest warrants and considers more closely the time needed to thoroughly consider a case.

Žilinskas is a professor in MRU Law Faculty's Dept. of International and European Union Law.
