Despite Tensions in Korean Peninsula, MRU Student Is Staying Put at DSU in Busan

koreabusanpundzaite April 15th, the online daily news site, published an interview with MRU student Jolita Pundzaitė, an exchange student in Korea studying at Dongseo University (DSU) in Busan, the 2nd largest city in South Korea.

She tells the reporter that at DSU in Busan she has not heard any serious discussion about North and South Korea.

In the near future, Pundzaitė said she, and other international students, have no plans to leave South Korea.

"Although parents and closest friends are worried and write SMS' asking about the situation, - and some of them are encouraging us to return home, it is not yet time to do so," Pundzaitė says in the interview.

The press, I think, has somewhat exagerrated the existing situation, she said and there is no real threat as of yet, she added.

She said she sleeps well at night and during the week, on working days, she is preparing for coming exams. On weekends she devotes her time to travels around South Korea.

"You never know how things will turn out, but it would be stupid to waste time worrying and getting nervous," she said.

"When I came here, I had goals and I don't plan to leave South Korea until I meet them," said the MRU student.
