Women's Football Academy "Žalgiris“ has signed a long-term cooperation agreement with Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Rector Prof. Inga Žalėnienė. The name of the new team will be "MFA Žalgiris-MRU." The 17-member team has won Lithuania's Football Championship during the 2020 season. The team's nucleus is formed from women born in Vilnius. Last year alone members of Lithuania's women's football team defended the honour of the country in various tournaments. The cooperation agreement with MRU will open new possibilities for the expansion of football in Vilnius and for each woman determined to win at all costs, but to also acquire a university education.
