Cambridge Univ Law Lecturer Dr. Steffek Presented Series of Lectures

felix-steffekin Sept. 17th-23rd, 2017, Cambridge University Law Faculty Lecturer Dr. Felix Steffek presented a series of lectures to Master's Degree students of Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Law programme, Ëuropean and International Business Law." It is a joint programme with France's Savoie University.

He also presented lectures to students in MRU Prof. R. Norkus's European and International Law course.

Sept. 20th, he presented a seminar for doctoral students on Comparative Law Research. He also answered questions from PhD students relating to their dissertation. The seminar was conducted in English.

Since 2015, Dr. Steffek is a Senior Member of Newnham College.

He has also been a senior Research Fellow (2007–2015) and Research Fellow (2006–2007), Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law and a Research Fellow, Centre for European Economic Law, University of Bonn (2005–2006) as well as a research assistant, then Research Fellow, Institute for German and European Corporate and Commercial Law, University of Heidelberg (1998–2004).

His visiting professorship positions include: Visiting Fellow, Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law (2015–2016).  Research Associate and Max Planck Fellow, University of Oxford and St Catherine’s College (2014–2015).  Faculty Visitor, University of Cambridge (2013).  Academic Visitor, University of Oxford (2012).  Visiting Fellow, Wolfson College (2012).  Visiting Researcher, Harvard Law School (2008).

Dr. Steffek is a graduate of the University of Heidelberg: PhD in Law (2004-2007); University of Hamburg: Habilitation (2009–2015).  High Court Hamburg: Legal Clerkship, Second State Examination in Law (2006–2008).  University of Cambridge: LLM (2002–2003).  University of Ferrara: Erasmus (1999 – 2000). University of Heidelberg: studies in law and economics, First State Examination in Law, French Law Certificate (1997–2002). Educational scholarships and prizes:  Gravenbrucher Kreis (3rd prize, 2012).  Otto Hahn Medal (2009).  Hachenburg Prize (2008).  Cusanuswerk (1998–2006).  Whytehead, St John’s College (2003).

Dr. Steffek has been lecturing at the University of Cambridge since 2004, and at the University of Warsaw (since 2006). He has also presented lectures at the University of Hamburg (2009–2014), the Australian National University (2012), and the China-EU School of Law (2009–2010).

His expert positions include: the European Parliament: dispute resolution reform (2016). EU-Georgia Association Agreement: company law reform (2016).  the World Bank: regulation of dispute resolution (since 2015).  EU Commission: dispute resolution (2012).  Ministry of Justice, Germany: EU and domestic corporate insolvency law reform (2010–2012).  Parliament, Germany: financial institutions law reform (2009).  Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, Germany: European company law (2009).  Ministry of Justice, Germany: mediation law reform (2007–2008).

Since 2016 he has been a member of the Editorial Board of the Cambridge Yearbook of European Legal Studies.
