Assoc. Prof. Dromantaitė-Stancikienė.Discussed Life for Young Scholars
Sept. 30th, MRU Assoc. Prof. Aistė Dromantaitė-Stancikienė appeared on the "Žinių radijas" radio's "Raktas" (Key) programme to discuss life for young scholars in Lithuania. She was introduced as a representative of Lithuania's Young Scholars Association. She is an Assoc. Prof. in the Faculty of Politics & Management's Dept. of Management.
MRU Updated 3 Bachelor's Degree Programmes
September 27th, the daily newspaper, "Lietuvos žinios," in a full-page article reports on MRU's efforts to update study programmes. The article mentions that the following 3 study programmes have been updated: "Law and Management," "Social Work" and "Public Administration." In addition, the article mentions that by applying innovative methods, students are encouraged to develop analytical thinking skills.

MRU Political Science Dept. Lecturer Medalinskas Discussed the Future of Russia - Sept. 26th
September 26th, MRU Political Sciences Dept. Lecturer Alvydas Medalinskas appeared on the "Žinių radijas" radio's "Question of the Day" programme. The topic was, "What Kind of Future Does the V. Putin and D. Medvedev tandem Hold for Russia?" Medalinskas is a political scientist and teaches in MRU's Dept. of Political Sciences.
MRU Law Prof. Žilys: Constitution - an Established Route Leading People to a Democratic Society
Sept. 23rd, the daily newspaper, "Respublika," published an article about the upcoming Constitution Exam, which will be held on Oct. 6th. The article quotes former Constitutional Court Chairman MRU Law Faculty Prof. Juozas Žilys, who will chair the Constitutional exam commission evaluating the tests. Prof. Žilys said that the Constitution is "as if an established route, leading people and institutions towards a democratic society."
International Law Prof. Žilinskas Discussed War on Terror, Secret Prisons & Torture
Sept. 21st, MRU Law Faculty Prof. Justinas Žilinskas appeared on the "Žinių radijas" radio programme, "Person to Person" (Žmogus žmogui) to discuss the War on Terror and alleged secret prisons in the heart of Central Europe. Žilinskas is a professor in the Law Faculty's Dept. of International and EU Law.
Vice-Rector Viliūnas: MRU Seeking ECTS Label Which Recognizes Study Quality
Sept. 20th, MRU Vice-Rector for Education Assoc. Prof. Giedrius Viliūnas was interviewed by the daily newspaper, "Lietuvos Žinios" about the University's application for the European Credit Transfer System label (ECTS). The ECTS label is proof of perfection, Viliūnas noted. It recognizes that a university provides quality studies with credits recognized at other European universities and that it meets international standards.
MRU's Marketing Office Head Sakalauskas: Management of Universities Should Meet Global Standards
Sept. 20th, MRU Marketing Office Chief Šarūnas Sakalauskas appeared on the "Laisvoji Banga" radio station's "Time for Decision-making" programme. He discussed MRU's joint degree programmes and the need for modern management of today's universities. Sakalauskas also encouraged students to select "the best possible universities" in which to study and continuously to "improve oneself.
IAU's Eva Egron-Polak: MRU an Example of a University with Good Management
September 20th, the daily newspaper, "Respublika" published an article on higher education without borders and interviewed International Association of Universities (IAU) general secretary Eva Egron-Polak. She mentioned that amongst new EU-member universities, MRU is an example of a university with successful management.
MRU Chancellor Assoc. Prof. Spurga Commented on Basketball Championship and Politics Sept. 19th
Sept. 19th, MRU Chancellor Assoc. Prof. Saulius Spurga commented on the past week's top newsworthy events on the "Žinių radijas" radio programme's "Events & Commentary" programme. He said the end of the EuroBasket 2011 Basketball championships held in Lithuania this month made a fan of everyone. "Many people who were not fans, became (basketball) fans," Spurga said. "These were hours and days when we were united by sport," he added. Spurga is an Assoc. Prof. in MRU's Dept. of Political Science in the Faculty of Politics and Management.
For Dorm Rent at MRU, Shell Out From 120 to 200 Lt per/mo
September 7th, the daily newspaper, "Vilniaus Diena," reports that students at MRU pay from 120 to 200 Lt/month for a room in MRU's dorm, depending on the size, comfort level and number of roommates. MRU Dorm Manager Nijolė Jansonienė said that MRU's dorms are regarded as among the best in Vilnius. "That's what students say, who have been at other university student zones," she said.
MRU Assoc. Prof. Jasinavičius Discusses How Enterprising are Lithuanians
September 5th, MRU Assoc. Prof. Rimvydas Jasinavičius appeared on the "Žinių radijas" radio's "Question of the Day" programme to discuss enterprise, starting businesses and whether it's an inborn trait or learned. Jasinavičius maintains it's a "social skill." He is an Assoc. Prof. in MRU's Dept. of Business Economics in the Faculty of Economics and Finance Management.
EuroBasket Players to Train at MRU's Sports Hall Before Matches
