MRU Choir Wins Gold Medal Diploma in German Competition
October 28th, the daily Lithuanian "Lietuvos Rytas" internet portal "lrytas.lt" published an article, "M. Romeris University Choir Participated in Choir Competition in Zwickau," (Germany). MRU's Choir won a gold diploma and an international certificate in the competition held Oct. 20th-24th. MRU's Choir was one of 22 choirs that participated from 7 different countries in the international Robert Schumann Choir Competition.
Lithuanian Radio: MRU Assoc. Prof. Aleknonis Presents Commentary
October 28th, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Political Science Dept. Head Gintaras Aleknonis presented a commentary on Lithuanian Radio titled, "The Birth of the Elite Wihin a Crowd." His comments dealt with the resignation of Edita Žiobienė, the Head of the Children's Rights Ombudsman's Institution.
MRU Student Team Captain Discusses MRU's Participation in New TV Project October 28th
October 28th, university student team captains, including MRU team captain Mindaugas Buckiūnas, appeared on Lithuanian TV's (LTV) programme, "Labas rytas" to discuss a new TV project. Buckiūnas talked about their participation in the "Ateities lyderiai" (Future Leaders) project, which will air for the first time on October 28th, 21:15 hrs. on LTV.
MRU Law Faculty Assoc. Prof. Comments on Myanmar's New Flag's Similiarities to Lithuanian Tri-colour Flag
October 23rd, the daily Lithuanian newspaper, "Lietuvos Žinios" (LŽ) writes about similiarities between the flag from the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Lithuania's tri-colour yellow/green/red flag. Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Comparative Law Dept. Head Justinas Žilinskas told LŽ that flags with yellow, green and red-colour stripes are not all that rare. Lietuvos Rytas: MRU Young Financier's Academy Begins New Academic Year Oct. 23rd
October 22nd, the Internet portal newspaper "lrytas.lt" reports that Mykolas Romeris University's Young Financier's Academy (JaFA) begins its 6th academic year. Opening of the Academy took place on MRU's campus on October 23rd at 10 a.m. MRU Business Economics Dept. Assoc. Prof. Rimvydas Jasinavičius said the goal of the Academy is to develop the financial intellect of youth and foster leadership qualities.
MRU Chancellor Saulius Spurga Discusses the Meaning of the Nobel Prize in Radio Discussion Oct. 22nd
October 22nd, MRU Chancellor Saulius Spurga participated in a discussion, led by host Tomas Dapkus, on the Lithuanian Radio programme, "Akiračiai," on the meaning of the Nobel Prize. Swedish chemist and innovator Alfred Nobel, who held over 300 different patents including for dynamite, was born on Oct. 21st, 1833. In his last will, Nobel dedicated his fortune to institute the Nobel Prizes.
MRU Assoc. Prof. Sakalauskas Comments on Matters Relating to Resignation of Children's Rights Ombudsman
October 22nd, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Assoc. Prof. Gintautas Sakalauskas of the Mediation Dept., spoke on Lithuanian Radio and commented on matters relating to the resignation of the Head of the Children's Rights Ombudsman's Institution.
President Grybauskaitė Recommends MRU Law Faculty Academic to Vilnius District Ct. Bench
October 20nd, the daily "Respublika" reports that Lithuania's President Dalia Grybauskaitė signed a decree that opens the door for Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Law Faculty Lecturer Vilija Mikuckienė's eventual appointment to the Vilnius District Court bench. Mikuckienė is an assistant to the Chairman of the Appellate Court and a lecturer in MRU's Civil Procedure Dept.
Lithuanian Radio: MRU Law Faculty Prof. Sinkevičius Participated in Discussion on Citizenship Issues
October 19th, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Law Faculty Prof. Vytautas Sinkevičius participated in Lithuanian Radio's programme, "Ant Svarstyklių," (In the Balance) which analyzed the issue of dual nationality. Sinkevičius is a professor of Constitutional Law in the Law Faculty of MRU. He is a former Judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Lithuania.

October 18th, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Assoc. Professor and political analyst Gintaras Aleknonis participated in a discussion on the "Žinių Radijas," current events radio programme "Įvykiai ir Komentarai." October 18th, the weekly news magazine "Veidas," published a full-page interview with Mykolas Romeris University's Social Informatics Faculty Dean Saulius Norvaišas titled, "Mykolas Romeris University - Studies Appropriate for the Nanotechnology Age." October 11th, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Prof. Antanas Kulakauskas participated in a live Lithuanian TV/radio discussion, "Between East & West" ("Tarp Rytų ir Vakarų") on the quality of governance in Lithuania. The programme was moderated by Rimgaudas Geleževičius. Kulakauskas is a professor in MRU's Political Sciences Dept.
MRU Assoc. Prof. Guogis Discusses Pension Reform in Lithuania
October 8th, in the daily "15 min.," Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Assoc. Prof. Arvydas Guogis discussed pension reform and ways to improve SODRA, the State Social Insurance Fund Board of the Republic of Lithuania. Guogis is an Associate Professor in MRU's Faculty of Politics and Management's Dept. of Public Administration.
MRU Law Faculty Dept. Head Gutauskas Participates in Roundtable Discussion on Property Confiscation
October 8th the daily, "Lietuvos Žinios" invited Mykolas Romeris University's Law Faculty Assoc. Prof. Aurelijus Gutauskas to participate in a roundtable discussion regarding confiscation of property of criminals. Gutauskas is Head of the University Law Faculty's Criminal Law & Criminology Dept.
MRU Student Wins "Miss Princess of the World" Title in Prague Pageant
October 5th, the daily "Lietuvos Rytas," writes that MRU student Deimantė Bubelytė, 20, was crowned October 2nd "Miss Princess of the World" in a beauty pageant held in the Czech city of Prague. She was one of 43 contestants competing for the crown. In late August Bubelytė was the first runner-up in the "Miss Lithuania 2010" pageant, held in Vilnius.
