Lithuanian Radio: MRU Assoc. Prof. & Adviser to Lithuania's President - Cirtautienė Discusses Corruption
August 31st, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Law Faculty Assoc. Prof. Solveiga Cirtautienė participated in a discussion on corruption on Lithuanian radio's "Ant Svartstyklių" (Weighin' In) programme. Cirtautienė, who is an adviser to Lithuania's President Dalia Grybauskaitė, is an Associate Professor of the Law Faculty's Dept. of Civil and Commercial Law.
MRU Student Gritė Maruškevičiūtė Crowned "Miss Lithuania 2010" August 27th in Festive Ceremony
Mykolas Romeris University 3rd-yr. Law & Management student Gritė Maruškevičiūtė, 21, was crowned "Miss Lithuania 2010" in a gala festive ceremony held in Vilnius on Aug. 27th. So writes the Lithuanian daily, "Lietuvos Rytas" in its Saturday, August 28th edition. Maruškevičiūtė also wowed TV viewers and was awarded the "Miss Public" prize. She will travel to China in October to participate in the "Miss World 2010" beauty paegant.
Daily 15 Min: MRU Student Discusses her Studies in the Czech Republic
In the August 24th issue of the Lithuanian daily, "15 minučių," Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Faculty of Politics and Management 3rd year student Toma Baltrukonytė discusses her year abroad in the Czech Republic. The article is titled, "ERASMUS Experience: Studies at the Masaryk University in the Czech Republic."
Lietuvos Rytas: MRU's Honorary Doctor - Polish President Komorowski Last Week Vacationed in Lithuania
August 24th, the daily "Lietuvos Rytas," reports in a front page article that Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski, who is also MRU's Honorary Doctor, vacationed in Lithuania's Curonian Spit. Komorowski's parents hail from Lithuania. He vacationed in the resort town of Nida, with his wife, Anna. In 2008, the MRU Senate bestowed the tile of Doctor Honoris Causa to Komorowski, for his role in strengthening democracy, cherishing democratic values and developing neighborly relations.

Lietuvos Žinios: MRU Law Faculty Prof. Piesliakas Participates in Roundtable Discussion on Criminal Law Cases
In the August 20th issue of the Lithuanian daily, "Lietuvos Žinios," Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Law Faculty Professor Vytautas Pieliakas takes part in a roundtable discussion on statute of limitations in criminal law cases. The article is titled, "Is it easy to Avoid Responsibility in Lithuania?" Piesliakas is a member of the University's Department of Criminal Law and Criminology.
Respublika: Mykolas Romeris University Professor Antanas Buračas Discusses EU Aid
In the August 17th issue of the Lithuanian daily, "Respublika," MRU's Faculty of Economics and Finance Management Banking & Investments Dept. Professor Antanas Buračas expresses his opinion about EU aid. Buračas, in the article titled, "Lithuania's Tri-colour flag Unnecessary...." says that he never heard of the now common practice of announcing, when roads were under construction during the Soviet era, that improvements of roads were "supported by the Soviet Union." Vilniaus Diena: Mykolas Romeris University Dorms in Vilnius- are Newest & Cleanest
August 12th, the daily newspaper Vilniaus Diena reports that Mykolas Romeris University dorms are among the newest and cleanest in Vilnius. MRU can offer dorm rooms to about 65% of those desiring or 1,295 students. Students pay from 120-210 Litai per month for a space in a dorm room.
Daily Newspaper "Lietuvos Žinios" Reports MRU Will Not Have 2nd Round of Admissions
August 6th, the Lithuanian daily, "Lietuvos Žinios" reports that Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) will not have a 2nd round of admissions. In the article by Kęstutis Saldžiūnas, it is stated that unlike other universities, MRU will not be announcing an additional round of admissions. Even during the time of crisis, students are choosing MRU for studies. In the fall about 6,000 youth will begin studies at MRU in Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral degree programmes.

August 6th, News radio, "Žinių radijas," reported there will be no further admission of students at Mykolas Romeris University (MRU). About 6,000 students will begin studies at MRU in Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral degree programmes.
Lithuanian Radio: MRU's Psychology Dept. Assoc. Prof. Discusses the Rigours of Old Age - August 5th
August 5th, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Psychology Dept. Assoc. Professor Aistė Diržytė spoke about the rigors of old age on the Lithuanian Radio programme, "Kasdienybės kultūroje" (Everyday Culture). She discussed the world of old folks with its questions about the meaning of life, joys and hardships. Diržytė has a doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
