April 28th, the newspaper dedicated to issues of education, "Dialogas," published an article, "One Thousand Reasons Why it's Worthwhile to Study at Mykolas Romeris University." The article was written by journalist Vladas Vaicekauskas.
MRU Law Faculty Assoc. Prof. Širinskienė Discussed Artificial Insemination - April 28th
April 28th, MRU Law Faculty Assoc. Prof. Agnė Širinskienė appeared on the "Žinių radijas" radio programme, "So Government Would Serve the People." She discussed artificial insemination and draft proposals of laws regarding the issue. Širinskienė is an Assoc. Prof. in MRU Law Faculty's Dept. of Biolaw.
MRU Assoc. Prof. Kaminskienė Discussed the New Mediation Master's Degree Programme
April 27th, MRU Mediation Department Head Assoc. Prof. Natalija Kaminskienė appeared on the Lithuanian TV info morning show, "Labas Rytas." Kaminskienė presented MRU's new Mediation Master's Degree programme.
MRU Law Assoc. Prof. Papirtis Elected to 2nd Term as Head of Lithuanian Bar Association
April 26th, the daily newspaper, "Respublika" reports that MRU Law Faculty Assoc. Prof. Leonas Virginijus Papirtis (see photo) has been elected to a second term as head of Lithuania's Bar Association.  There are 1,729 lawyers now in Lithuania, according to Respublika. Papirtis was elected to a 2nd term by secret ballot.
MRU Prof. Narbekovas: Faith, Hope Would be Empty Without Easter Resurrection
April 23rd, MRU professor Andrius Narbekovas was interviewed by the daily newspaper, "Vilniaus Diena," on the meaning of the Easter holiday and Resurrection. Prof. Narbekovas, a Catholic priest, says that if there had been no Resurrection, then "our faith, our hope would be empty." He also said if we were blessed with such deep faith, which would leave no room for doubt, our life would be wonderful. Narbekovas is a professor in MRU Law Faculty's Department of Biolaw. He is also a physician and surgeon.
MRU's Modern Electronic Card System Helps Safeguard & Protect University Property
April 23rd, the online news website www.delfi.lt reports in an article on tardy professors that MRU's electronic card entry system helps to safeguard university property. In addition, it also helps avoid misunderstandings regarding lost or misplaced auditorium and lecture hall keys. Students or lecturers also can quickly find out which auditoriums are free and make use of the empty space. The electronic keycard system was implemented at MRU last fall and is a modern system, according to MRU Public Info Officer Kęstutis Saldžiūnas.
Mediation Dept. Head Kaminskienė Discussed New Mediation Master's Programme on April 22nd
April 22nd, MRU's Mediation Dept. Head Assoc. Prof. Natalija Kaminskienė discussed the new Mediation Master's Degree programme that will be offerred at MRU on the Lithuanian Radio afternoon news programme. The Master's Degree programme will prepare specialists in the area of mediation along with consultants, analysts, and administrators that will be able to resolve disputes. Kaminskienė is an Assoc. Prof. in the Social Policy Faculty and Head of MRU's Mediation Department.
MRU Assoc. Prof. Dumbliauskas Comments on Election of New Mayor - Artūras Zuokas in Vilnius
April 20th, the daily newspaper, "15min" published commentary by MRU Assoc. Prof. Vytautas Dumbliauskas on the election of Vilnius' new mayor, Artūras Zuokas. Dumbliauskas says although Zuokas is a charismatic politician, voters will not be happy with his election because it was on his watch that almost all municipal enterprises, which oversee high-rise buildings in the city, were privatized. In addition, Dumbliauskas says Zuokas is aligned with one business group, which everyone calls "Rubikonas." Dumbliauskas is an Assoc. Prof. in MRU's Dept. of Political Sciences.
MRU Chancellor Assoc. Prof. Spurga Discussed the Vilnius Mayoral Election
April 19th, MRU Chancellor and Assoc. Prof. Saulius Spurga (see photo) participated in Lithuanian Radio's programme, "Theme of the Day," (Dienos tema). The discussion topic was election of the Vilnius city mayor. Spurga is an Assoc. Prof. in MRU's Dept. of Political Sciences.
MRU Political Science Lecturer Medalinskas Discussed Press Freedom in Lithuania
April 19th, MRU Lecturer Alvydas Medalinskas appeared on the Žinių Radijas radio programme, "Anatomy of the Media," and discussed press freedom in Lithuania. Medalinskas is a well-known political commentator and a lecturer in MRU's Department of Political Sciences.
MRU Women's Basketball Team Wins Bronze Medals
April 18th, the daily "Lietuvos Žinios," reports that the MRU Women's Basketball Team won bronze medals after defeating 68:61 the Klaipėda University (KU) team in the Lithuanian Student Basketball League (LSKL) championship finals. They were held in the Kaunas Sports Hall on April 15th.
MRU Law Faculty Prof. Beinoravičius & Vice-Dean Assoc. Prof. Baublys Discussed Decalogue and the Law
April 18th, MRU Law Faculty Professor Darijus Beinoravičius (see photo) and Vice-Dean Assoc. Prof. Linas Baublys participated in a discussion on the Ten Commandments and laws in a programme on the "Marijos Radijas" radio station. Prof. Beinoravičius is Head of MRU Law Faculty's Dept. of Philosophy of Law and Legal History. Baublys is the Faculty's Vice-Dean and an Assoc. Prof. in the Faculty of Law.
Pupils Test Legal Knowledge in Olympic Event at MRU April 16th
April 15th, the daily online news website reports that pupils from various parts of Lithuania will gather at MRU April 16th to participate in an Olympics of sorts for those interested in law and legal issues. Pupils taking part receive a certificate. This is the 4th year in a row that MRU's Law Faculty is organizing the event.
MRU Assoc. Prof. Nevera Appointed Deputy General Prosecutor
April 12th, the online news website "delfi.lt" reports that MRU Law Faculty Assoc. Prof. Andrius Nevera was appointed Deputy General Prosecutor following a decree issued by President Dalia Grybauskaitė. Nevera is an Assoc. Prof. in the Criminal Law and Criminology Dept.
MRU Assoc. Prof. Dumbliauskas on Hunger Strikes as a Political Means of Persuasion
April 11th, MRU Assoc. Prof. Vytautas Dumbliauskas appeared on the Lithuanian radio programme, "Between East and West," (Tarp Rytų ir Vakarų). He participated in a discussion on whether hunger strikes are an acceptable means of political pressure. Dumbliauskas is an Assoc. Prof. in MRU's Dept. of Political Sciences.
MRU Lecturer Laurinaitis: e-Shopping Sales Sluggish Due to Consumer Distrust
April 9th, the daily "Vilniaus Diena," published commentary on e-shopping of food products by MRU Lecturer Marius Laurinaitis. In the full-page article Laurinaitis is quoted as saying that consumer distrust of supermarkets is keeping electronic sales of foodstuffs at a minimum. Food e-Shopping is one area where consumer distrust runs high. Consumers are afraid that supermarket chains will try to pass off old or dated foodstuffs via the internet. Laurinaitis is a lecturer in MRU's Dept. of Banking and Investments in the Faculty of Economics and Finance Management.

April 7th, the weekly paper, "Žaliasis Pasaulis," has published an article by MRU Dept. of Environmental Policy doctoral student Ausra Šaltenytė about Earth Day events at Mykolas Romeris University.
Students at MRU With More than 3 Academic Debts Will Face Suspension of Studies
April 5th, the online news website in an article on students, academic debts and university explusion policies, quotes MRU's Info Officer Kęstutis Saldžiūnas. He said that at the beginning of the year, tuition-paying students and those on scholarships will be suspended at the end of the semester, if they have more than 3 academic debts. Studies are temporarily suspended for a 1-yr. period during which the debts must be eliminated. Failure to eliminate debts, results in expulsion.
MRU Banking & Investments Dept. Lecturer Laurinaitis on e-Money
April 4th, MRU's Lecturer Marius Laurinaitis was interviewed by radio station "M-1 Plius" about e-Money. Laurinaitis is a lecturer in MRU's Dept. of Banking and Investments in the Faculty of Economics and Finance Management.
Daily "RESPUBLIKA" on University Rectors' Academic Dress During Ceremonial Occasions
April 2nd, the daily newspaper, "Respublika," in its weekend supplement, "Julius ir Brigita" featured a 2-page photo spread on University Rectors' academic dress during formal occasions. The article included a photograph of MRU Rector Prof. Alvydas Pumputis wearing the official MRU academic Rector's gown with the now current President of Poland B. Komorowski. MRU Prof. Zilinskas Discusses Events in Libya and Their Significance for Lithuania
April 1st, the daily newspaper, "Respublika" organized a roundtable discussion on events in Libya and the no-fly zone as well as their significance for Lithuania. MRU Law Faculty Prof. Justinas Zilinskas participated in the discussion. Žilinskas is a professor in MRU's Law Faculty and Head of the Dept. of Comparative Law.

MRU Assoc. Prof. Aleknonis: Fourth Estate Most Stable of All Governments
April 1st, MRU Assoc. Prof. Gintaras Aleknonis presented commentary on regime rotation and the Fourth Estate on Lithuanian Radio's morning news programme. Aleknonis said although there have been 4 Presidents and 11 prime ministers during 20 years of Lithuania's independence, the most stable of all Lithuania's governments is the 4th Estate. Aleknonis is Head of MRU's Dept. of Political Sciences.
