Notary & MRU Council Member Stračkaitis on Being Careful on How Much You Borrow
November 30th, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Council member and notary Marius Stračkaitis discusses borrowing in these times of financial crisis in the daily newspaper, "Respublika." Three MRU Students are Sambo Championship Winners
November 29th, the daily online news website, DELFI.lt, writes that three Mykolas Romeris University students have become champions in the 2010 Lithuanian universities sambo championships in their weight categories. They are Eimantas Verenius (68 kg); Justinas Grumba (74 kg) and Radvilas Matukas (90 kg). The competition was held in Kaunas. The women's MRU Team won the championships, writes DELFI.lt.

November 19th, the daily newspaper, "Lietuvos Žinios," has published a full-page interview with Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Rector Prof. Alvydas Pumputis. "Our University prepares society leaders, creating new work places, fostering national identity," Pumputis is quoted as saying. MRU plans that all Master's Degree programmes in the future will be joint programmes, he said.

November 18th, MRU Law Faculty Professor Justinas Žilinskas is quoted in the daily newspaper, "Lietuvos Rytas" in the article, "Doubts Regarding a Law." November 18th, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Law Faculty Professor Justinas Žilinskas on pg. 4 in the daily, "Vilniaus Diena," comments on a proposed change in the Law on Citizenship. It would allow those Lithuanians living in EU and NATO countries to have dual citizenship. Žilinskas was among several legal experts that met with Lithuania's President Dalia Grybauskaite on Nov. 17th to discuss the proposed changes. November 17th, the daily newspaper, "Respublika," reports the comments of Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Professor Antanas Buračas on banks. Buračas is quoted as saying that at one time, international banks freely handed out all kinds of loans, but now they do not want to divide up losses with clients. Their goal is to at least reduce the number of impending bankruptcies. Academic Buračas is a professor in MRU's Department of Banking and Investments in the Faculty of Economics and Finance Management.

Head Professor Justinas Žilinskas has recommended that a referendum be organized to change a clause in the Constitution regarding citizens with dual nationality. Sinkevičius: Not All Seimas Members Value the Constitution," where MRU Law Faculty Professor Vytautas Sinkevičius is quoted speaking during a DELFI conference about the Nov. 11th impeachment process. MRU Choir Wins Gold Diploma in R. Schumann Competition in Germany
November 2nd, the internet portal "Bernardinai.lt" published an article, "The International Robert Schumann Choir Competition in Germany," which details MRU's Choir's strong showing (gold diploma) in the competition held in Zwickau Oct. 20th-24th. The diploma and international certificate, will allow MRU's Choir for a 5-year period to "compete" amongst leaders for prizes in the future.
