Application for 2013 Human Rights Summer School is open!
Human Rights Summer School takes place already for the 7th time at Mykolas Romeris University. The School covers introductory human rights principles and practices in 10 days for a total of 6 ECTS. Students will familiarize themselves with the concept of human rights and its implementation on the international and national level. Students are encouraged to critically explore the main precepts and tenets, as they evaluate human rights practices at home and globally. The course introduces major human rights systems, instruments and mechanisms and focuses on main topics in the field of civil and political rights – personal security, privacy, freedom of expression, fair trial, and prohibition of discrimination. Students will consider contemporary challenges and future prospects through lectures, highly interactive seminars, case studies, and group discussions, completed by the moot court exercise. They will visit Lithuanian institutions established to promote and protect human rights.
This year Human Rights Summer School will take place at Mykolas Romeris University on 15 - 23 July, 2013. The patron of the Summer School is Mr. Egidijus Jarašiūnas, Judge of the Court of Justice of the European Union.
Lecturers are renowned specialists from Poland, Lithuania, and other countries.
Participants stay at a comfortable 3 star hotel located near the center of Vilnius.
