Dear Students and Young Scientists,
We invite you to take part in international schools, which will take place at Mykolas Romeris University during the summer of 2009.
The 4th international annual doctoral summer school, “Challenges of Democracy in Post-Communist Europe: National Identity,” – is a continuing event, for young academics in the social sciences, who are preparing research papers about changes in post-communist Europe. In the global era, national identity is becoming a more relevant problem, especially for the new and neighbouring countries of the European Union.
The purpose of the 2nd International Human Rights summer school is to initiate discussions about human rights amongst students from different countries and from different legal systems. The theme of human rights was selected as it is one of the most important and universal contemporary law problems.
The international summer school is a wonderful opportunity for youth to listen to lectures delivered by prominent Lithuanian academics, to conduct discussions and to become familiar with Lithuania’s culture. This summer Vilnius—the European Capital of Culture 2009, awaits the world’s youth. All of Lithuania will welcome visitors and tourists, as the country celebrates the Millennium of the first mention of Lithuania in historical sources.
