Assoc. prof. Agne Sirinskiene, Programme Director:
The reason behind developing this study programme was was complexity of modern healthcare sector. The need to address new emerging issues in euro-integration require lawyer’s specialized knowledge in healthcare policy, in specifics of the healthcare, and in various fields of health technologies. On the other hand, current research shows that lawyers who have specialized training in the healthcare law and understand health issues are considered to be far more valuable by their employers than traditional private or public law practitioners, working with healthcare issues without any specific training.
Andrius Narbekovas, member of a Lithuanian National Health Council:
This Joint master degree programme offers a unique opportunity to study healthcare law in an interdisciplinary environment, as it integrates various spheres of law and policy together with bioethics, healthcare and biomedicine.
