Academic Awards

In 2008, the 2007 Lithuanian academic prize, (the Humanities and Social Science section; Fundamental and Applied Scientific Research) was awarded to Mykolas Romeris University Professor Mindaugas Maksimaitis for his work, “Studies of Lithuania’s Constitutional History“ (1998–2006 m.)”.

MYKOLAS ROMERIS UNIVERSITY‘s LAW FACULTY PUBLISHES THE PERIODICAL ACADEMIC JOURNALS, JURISPRUDENCIJA AND SOCIAL SCIENCES STUDIES

Main aims of Mykolas Romeris University‘s periodical journal, "Jurisprudencija“:

  • to initiate scientific dialogue between legal professionals and academics from Eastern and Central European region countries,
  • to develop modern, legal thought,
  • to analyse regional Eastern and Central European typical law and application problems,
  • to pay special attention to questions of legal implementation in the new European Union countries,
  • to contribute to the process of European Union law and legal act creation with academic, and scholarly ideas.

The research journal “Jurisprudencija“ publishes original scholarly articles in various fields of law: Legal Philosophy and Theory, Comparative Law, Legal History, Constitutional Law, International Public and Private Law, European Union Law, Civil Law, Civil Procedure Law, Administrative Law, Administrative Procedure Law, Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure Law, Business Law, Labour Law, Finance Law, Tax Law, Biolaw, Criminology, Criminal Investigation, Legal Informatics, etc.

Research journal, “Jurisprudencija,“ also publishes reviews of academic monographs and other scientific publications.

All research articles are reviewed by at least two reviewers appointed by the editor.

Scientific research articles are published in Lithuanian, English, German and French.

The journal, „Jurisprudencija,“ has been published since 1993.

The journal, „Jurisprudencija“ is included in the EBSCO Publishing, Inc.research and text database and the International Index Copernicus international database.

The main aims of Mykolas Romeris University‘s academic journal "Social Sciences Studies“ are:

  • to promote a scholarly dialogue between scholars of the Eastern and Central European region;
  • to analyse the legal and other social problems specific to Eastern and Central Europe;
  • to develop interdisciplinary research of law and other social sciences.

The periodical journal Social Sciences Studies, issued quarterly, publishes various research articles on theoretical and practical problems relating to various areas of law and other social sciences (economics, management, administration, political science, sociology, psychology, educology, social informatics, etc.) reviews of monographs and other scholarly publications, and announcements about social sciences conferences and seminars.

Partners of the publication, „Social Sciences Studies,“ include Wroclaw University (Poland), and Masaryk University’s Law Faculty (Czech Republic).

The journal, “Social Sciences Studies,” publishes original and previously unpublished scholarly articles written in Lithuanian, English, French or German. The Editorial Board reserves the right to publish articles in other languages.

Scholarly articles submitted to the „Social Sciences Studies“ journal are reviewed by at least two members of the editorial board or their appointed experts.
