EUA President, Professor J. M. Rapp, Awarded Doctor Honoris Causa

On June 25th, the President of the European University Association (EUA), Professor Jean-Marc Rapp, visited Mykolas Romeris University. During his meeting with scientists, the newest trends of European higher education and Lithuanian higher education reform within European context were discussed.
The quest was welcomed by the Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania, Dr. Nerija Putinaite, and Member of Seimas, Mr. Stasys Sedbaras.
Prof. J. M. Rapp has highly evaluated the progress and dynamism of Mykolas Romeris University and expressed his pleasure in having become a member of academic community of a true European level university.
The Senate of Mykolas Romeris University granted the EUA President Professor Jean-Marc Rapp with the award of Doctor Honoris Causa for his significant involvement in fostering the implementation of Bologna process and development of the European Higher Education Area, commitment to strengthening the quality assurance as well as advocating autonomy and creativity of the universities.
Doctor Honoris Causa solemn award ceremony was attended by members of Seimas, representatives of Government and Lithuanian Universities, and students.
