Last week prof. Alvydas Pumputis, Rector of the University, took part in the Global Higher Education Forum “Knowledge and Relevant Human Resource Development”, which was organized by the International Association of Universities (IAU) in Malaysia. Rector has brought good news that the IAU International Conferencein 2010 will be held at Mykolas Romeris University.

Rector shared the information with the academic community about the growing student population in Asian countries and the developing distance learning studies. Asian countries increasingly become a real competitor for the Europe in the field of education and its organization.

Other delighting news is that Mykolas Romeris University has been selected for the IAU’s Leadership Development for Higher Education Reform Programme (LEADHER) to share its experience with the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abay in the field of internationalization.

Next year the IAU General Conference will mark 60 years of this organization. The event will be held in Utrecht where the IAU was found in 1948. The University is invited to participate in the exhibition held on this occasion.
