Vice-Rector Prof. Žalėnienė Attended IAU Conference: Internationalization of Higher Ed

Oct. 28th-30th, 2015, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations Prof. Inga Žalėnienė participated at the International Association of Universities (IAU) conference, "Internationalization of Higher Education: Moving Beyond Mobility," in Italy. 

 
Prof. Žalėnienė presented a paper, "Implementation of Internationalization at MRU."
 
The Conference was hosted and co-organized by the University of Siena in Italy. 
 
Vice-Rector Žalėnienė also participated in ceremonies marking the opening of the 775th academic year at the University of Siena. IAU conference participants took part in the inaugural ceremony on Oct. 28th. There were more than 500 guests from all over the world.
 
Internationalization is one of the most important aspects of activity at universities encompassing not only research and studies, but also all of University life. 
 
IAU President Prof. Dr. Dzulkifli Abdul Razak, recepient of an honorary MRU Degree, was at the Conference along with IAU General Secretary Eva Egron-Polak and other members, Rectors. 
 
During the conference the following issues were examined: 
  • What are Alternatives to Mobility when pursuing Internationalisation?
  •  How does Internationalisation Change the Student Experience?
  •  Is Internationalisation Changing Knowledge and Know-how? How is it Improving the Quality of Higher Education? 
  • How can Internationalization help Overcome Disparities and Inequalities?
