Sept. 28th, 2017, at the MRU LAB, the Social Innovations Discussions Conference, SOCIN was held.

A total of three themes were discussed with representatives of Lithuania's institutions, NGO's and University academics and students.

At the morning session, there was a discussion, "How Fair is Justice." Participants included: Tomas Kubilius, Acting Head of the Human Rights Institute; Author and MRU Law Faculty Prof. Justinas Žilinskas; and Seimas member Julius Sabatauskas.

During the afternoon session, from 13:45 hrs., there was a discussion, "What Were We and What Have We Become?" Participants included the Head of Lithuania Representative Office of European Commission Arnoldas Pranckevičius, Seimas European Affairs Committee Vice-Chairman Aušrinė Armonaitė and Seimas Deputy Vice-Chairman Gediminas Kirkilas.

There were also presentations by Lithuania's academics as well as those from abroad.

MRU Prof. Arvydas Guogis will presented a paper, "Why do Cultural Factors Become of Major Importance in the Implementation of the New Public Governance?

Austrian academic Karin Sonnleitner discussed "Alternative Dispute Resolution in Austria: Option or Restriction for Resolving Conflicts?"

MRU Assoc. Prof. Povilas Aleksandravičius discussed, "The Limits of Transhumanism: Artificial Intellect vs. Human Intuition."

Finland's Heikkila Markku presented a paper on "Systemic Innovations as Moderators of Behavioural Changes in Consumption Decisions - A Practical Approach for Food Value Chains."

The Czech Republic's Dr. Loucie Vnoučova discussed "Sustainable Development of Human Resources: Innovativeness and Creativity as a Way to Development and Retention of Staff."
