May 29,2017, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Rector Assoc. Prof. Algirdas Monkevičius and Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) Rector Prof. Adalat Muradov signed an agreement allowing UNEC graduate students to receive a dual MRU degree in Financial Markets.

The agreement, an Understanding of Dual Diploma Graduate Program, allows graduate students from UNEC to get a dual degree from MRU.

Starting in September 2017, graduate students choosing the Master's Degree programme will complete the 1st term at UNEC and continue their studies at MRU for the second term. Studies at UNEC continue during the 3rd and 4th semesters.

The Dual Master's Degree Diploma allows UNEC graduates to conduct scientific research with MRU academics alongside professors from UNEC professors.

So, graduates successfully defending their Master’s Thesis, under the supervision of both universities’ professors, will be awarded diplomas from MRU and UNEC.

Both Rectors discussed possibilities for bilateral cooperation.

MRU Vice-Rector for Education and Research Dr. Inga Žalėnienė and International Office Head Audra Dargytė-Burokienė participated in the signing ceremony. Aside from Rector Muradov, the UNEC delegation included Economics Faculty Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Asiman Guliyev and International Office International Programmes Coordinator Aysel Musayeva.
