From Feb. 4th, 2015, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) international Master's and Bachelor's Degree students began Spring Semester Orientation Days' events on campus.

The new crop of MRU international students come from various countries including: Cameroon, Egypt, Ghana, Georgia, Indonesia, Morocco, Nigeria, Palestine and Ukraine.

Students will be attending lectures acquainting them with life at the University and the city of Vilnius. There will be information on temporary residence permits (TRP's), legal issues, public safety matters and other issues related to studies at MRU.

Orientation Programme is as follows:

 ,Wednesday, February 4th,

  • 9:30-10:00 hrs., Registration in the Lobby next to II-230 aud.,
  • 10:00-11:10 hrs., in II-230 aud., "Introduction to Lithuania and Vilnius, presentation of Mykolas Romeris University”, "Who Does What? Where to Go in Case of Questions?” “Introduction to Legal Stay in Lithuania – Temporary Residence Permit (TRP)”- "Introduction to Public Order Regulations and Safety in Vilnius. Rules of the Students House“.
  • 11:20 - 11:50 hrs., in II-230 aud., "How to Study at Mykolas Romeris University. Regulations on Study Procedures, Assessment, Grading etc. (Ms. Eglė Radzevičiūtė, Senior Academic Assistant at the Faculty of Law)
  • 12:00-12:50 in II-230 aud., “Academic Ethics and Academic Writing at Mykolas Romeris University” presentation by Assoc. Prof.dr. Paulo Alexandre da Silva Pereira.
  • 13:00-13:45 in II-230 aud.,  "Quality Assurance System at Mykolas Romeris University“ presentation by dr. Inga Juknytė – Petreikienė.
  • 13:45 – 14:30 in II-230 aud., Q & A session – consultations on any questions related to health insurance (a rep from insurance company shall be present), opening a bank account, housing outside the campus, etc.

Thursday, February 5th,

  • 12.00-12:50 in II-230 aud., Students Representative Body MRUSA and International Students Association ISA. You will meet with MRUSA International Relations Committee and Student mentors from ISA Student ID: Application for Student ID (abbreviation in Lithuanian: LSP) with integrated non-contact payment system Mokipay.
  • 13:00 – 14:00 in II-230 aud., open meeting "Building Bridges to Lithuanian Culture.“ You will meet with representatives from organizations, “Hospitable Lithuania” and “Centre Plus”. Lithuanian language and history courses, excursions and trips, visits to theatres, museums, and consultancy and information services on migration issues – all possibilities free of charge for non-EU TRP holders.

Friday, February 6th,

  • 11.20–12:50 at Entrance to the MRU Library - Tour of the MRU Library. There will be an introduction to Library services, info on activation of e-mail accounts, introduction to electronic study records book (“My studies”) and the Moodle environment (Digital Studies Unit representative)
  • 17.30 at the University canteen, International Dinner (together with international exchange students) MRU folk dance group “Skalsa” performs, (Cultural Activities Center invitation to join cultural and dance clubs, music bands, Theatre Group of MRU) . (*For International Dinner you are asked to prepare some National snacks or dishes and be ready to introduce them to other students.)
