Life on the Go: Azeri Student Lives in Turkey, But Studies at MRU

Business and Media School (BMS) student Javid Aliyev lives in Ankara, Turkey and flies to Vilnius to attend lectures at Mykolas Romeris University (MRU). The 26-year-old student says when you really want to, you can fit in studies with a full-time job.

The Financial Economics student is fluent in English, Turkish as well as Russian. He landed a full-time job in Turkey at the "Petoil" oil exploration company, while still a student.

He said his employer has been understanding about his need to fly to Vilnius approximately every six weeks to attend lectures and take exams.

Aliyev hails from the Azerbaijan coastal city of Lankaran, which is known for its tea. We like to drink black tea with lemon, he says.

When he completes his Bachelor's Degree, he said he would like to work towards a Master's Degree possibly in Economics or Marketing.

The Jan. 28th, 2017, edition of the "Lietuvos Rytas" daily published a full-page interview with Aliyev.
