“Ghetto” Film Premiere with MRU Students Debuts at Intl Film Festival

March 27th, 2015, Ambassadors from Ukraine, the U.S. and Israel gathered at the International Vilnius Film Festival at the "Pasaka" Cinema to see the movie premiere of "Ghetto," starring MRU students.

Ukraine's Ambassador Valerii Zhovtenko, U.S. Ambassador Deborah McCarthy, Israel's Ambassador Amir Maimon and Seimas Parliament Chairman  Loreta Graužinienė were on hand along with Seimas member Emanuelis Zingeris and other dignitaries and guests.

The film, based on the play by Joshua Sobol, was directed by MRU Theatre Head Julius Dautartas.

The film deals with life in the Vilnius Ghetto. It is based on a true story attesting to life in the Vilnius Ghetto and the prisoners there as they seek to stay alive at any cost.

The work is dedicated to the memory of Ghetto prisoners.

Dautartas directed the movie and also wrote the screenplay.
