    Transparency Intl Summer School at MRU July 7th-13th
    July 7th-13th, 2014, the Transparency International Summer School on Integrity will be held at Mykolas Romeris University. It is a school especially for students and youth leaders dealing with anti-corruption issues. Since 2010, there have been 350 youth from more than 60 countries that have attended the School.

    Five MRU students, one intern and lecturer exchanged lazy summer days in Lithuania for studies at an international 2-week summer school held in Johannes Kepler University of Linz (JKU).     July 23rd, 2014, participants of the Human Rights International Summer School gathered at the Court of Appeals in Vilnius to take part in the closing Moot Court event.     Azerbaijan Embassy Welcomed Azeri WTO Summer School Students
    July 18th, 2014, Azerbaijan Embassy in Lithuania Counsellor Vugar Ibrahimov welcomed ten students from Azerbaijan, who attended the "WTO in the Global Economy" Summer School at Mykolas Romeris University (MRU), to the Embassy, served tea and listened to their experiences. The summer school was held at MRU July 14th-20th, 2014.

    Study for Master's Degree with Universities Abroad, Get EU Financing
    Study at Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Master's Degree programmes with foreign universities, which are in part financed by European Union (EU) structural funds. One of the programmes is the new "Work and Organizational Psychology" programme offered by MRU jointly along with Tallinn's University of Technology (TUT) in Estonia.     HISTORIC: MRU 1st in Northern Europe to Establish King Sejong Institute to Promote Korea
    For the first time in the Baltics and northern Europe, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) has been designated as a Vilnius King Sejong Institute (KSI) to promote Korean Language and Culture. KSI Foundation President Song Hyangkeun informed MRU about the designation July 15th, 2014. MRU submitted the application along with Korea's Dongseo University (DSU).

It is the 8th year in a row that the school is being held at Mykolas Romeris University (MRU). Poland's Ambassador to Lithuania Jaroslaw Czubinski and Ukraine's Ambassador Valerij Zhovtenko welcomed participants to the School that is held July 14th-23rd, 2014 on campus.

    July 8th, 2014, the wild orchid Helleborine blossomed in Mykolas Romeris University's (MRU) Park. It is one of the plants on the protected plants' list. Although it has sprouted in past years on campus, the wild orchid has never blossomed as it has this summer.

    July 7th, 2014, Lithuania's President Dalia Grybauskaitė opened the Transparency International (TI) Summer School on Integrity at Mykolas Romeris University (MRU). Over 140 participants from some 60 countries are attending the school dealing with anti-corruption issues. It will be held July 7th-13th at MRU.

    June 19th, 2014, diplomas were awarded to graduates of the University's Faculty of Economics and Finance Management in two sessions. There were 209 diplomas awarded of which 70 were to graduates of Bachelor's Degree programmes and 139 to graduates of Master's Degree programmes. Vice-Rector Assoc. Prof. Giedrius Viliūnas presided over the morning diploma ceremony along with Faculty Dean Prof. Rima Žitkienė. MRU Rector Prof. A. Pumputis handed out diplomas during the afternoon ceremony.

Football fan Vladas Bartochevis from Brazil, will be glued to the TV set.     May 30th-June 1st, MRU Debate Club members Simona Tamulytė and Marius Lukminas won the Debate Academy competition organized by the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga. It was a historic win for the MRU Debate Club. The last time MRU won was in Macedonia, when debaters Ąžuolas Čekanavičius and Raminta Dereškevičiūtė won in 2003.

    Dancer, MRU Student Agnė Finds Time for Volunteering in Library
    Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Bachelor's Degree student Agnė Kazlauskaitė finds time not only for studies and for competing in modern dance competitions throughout Europe, but also for volunteering in MRU's Library. The 21-year-old student in March finished in third place in the Lithuania Show Dance and Contemporary Dance 2014 Competition with her partner Marius Mandrik.

    Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) has signed a Framework Agreement to join a European University consortium implementing the "European Joint Master's in Strategic Border Management" programme.     Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) students from India and Pakistan meet and form friendships here. They say they had MRU to thank for being able to meet one other here, despite decades of strife and tension back home. MRU Master's Degree student Sarvjeet Singh from India and Bachelor's Degree student Muhammad Yawar Malik from Pakistan, discussed how they met at MRU. They plan to visit one another in India and Pakistan, after they graduate from MRU.

    Asian & European Univ Agree to Create Knowledge Consortium
    April 15th, representatives from 7 European and Asian Universities approved the creation of a new Knowledge Consortium: Social Technologies for Smart and Inclusive Society (SOCTECH) by e-signature. The event included the burying of a virtual capsule and the start of the building of a Social Technologies international mobile centre. Many dignitaries, Seimas parliament members and others attended the ceremony.

"I think it's very interesting," said the Greek, who has spent almost three decades living and working in Brussels.

    China Approves Lecturer to Teach Chinese From Fall Semester
    Continuing cooperation with Mykolas Romeris University (MRU), China has given the green light to send a Chinese language teacher for the 2014-2015 academic year, the Embassy of the People's Republic of China has informed. The teacher, who will replace Manjun Zhang who taught at MRU last year, will begin Chinese language lessons in October 2014.

    Before Libyan student Aihem Mohamed came to Lithuania to spend a semester as an Erasmus student from Germany, he knew almost nothing about the country.     MRU Swimmer Giedrius Titenis Grabs 2nd Bronze in Swimming Championships
    Aug. 21st, 2014, MRU student and swimmer Giedrius Titenis won his 2nd bronze medal in the European Swimming Championships in Berlin in the Men's 200 m breastroke final (2:08, 93). Titenis was 3rd after German swimmer Marco Koch won gold (2:07,47), despite that Titenis led during the first 100 m. The silver medal went to Britain's Ross Murdoch (2:07,77). Aug. 19th Titenis won a bronze medal in the Men's 100 m breastroke final (59,61).

    Slovenian Coach Brinec Opened Summer Exercise Camp at MRU
    June 6th, 2014, Slovenian physical education training coach Tomaž Brinec opened a Summer Exercise Training Camp, "Go Pro with a Pro!" at Mykolas Romeris University. The 3-week courses are for sports enthusiasts, professional athletes and beginners. Brinec is best known in Lithuania as the "Lietuvos Rytas" basketball club physical education coach (2011– 2012 and 2012 – 2013 season).

    Lecturers & Students Participated in Marathon in Vilnius Jan. 11th
    Jan. 11th, the Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) team participated in the XXIII traditional marathon, "Through the Path of Life and Death," held in Vilnius to commemorate the memory of those freedom fighters who gave their lives for Lithuania's independence. A total of 10 lecturers and students took part and ran the 9-km length from the Antakalnis cemetery to the Vilnius TV Tower. More than 4,200 runners took part.
