Scholarships

The Regulations for Granting Incentive Scholarships, Third-Cycle Study Scholarships, Special (Maecenas) Scholarships and Special Incentive Allowances at Mykolas Romeris University shall regulate:

  • distribution of funds allocated by the state as incentives to students and the granting of incentive scholarships and special incentive allowances to University students the studies whereof are fully or partly funded by the state;
  • granting of scholarships to non-state-funded students from own funds of the University;
  • granting of scholarships to students of third-cycle studies (doctoral students);
  • granting of special (Maecenas) scholarships to students.
Regulations for Granting the Senate Scholarship of Mykolas Romeris University regulate the procedure for granting the Senate scholarships for students of university.
Mykolas Romeris University's Student Charity and Support Fund awards one-time scholarships for University students attending research conferences, seminars, research consultations, summer schools and other events.

Tuition Fee Reduction

The  Procedure for Administration of Payment of Tuition Fees and Other Tuition Deposits at Mykolas Romeris University establishes conditions for paying, returning, reducing etc of students‘ tuition fees, deposits directly relating with the implementation of the study programme, fees for repeatedly supplied study services and fees which are not directly related with the implementation of the study programme, fees for the services of boarding and other services, their general principles and procedures of organization and control. 

A tuition fee equal to a tuition cost per semester and a fee for study subject (module) may be paid by instalments.

State Financial Support

The State Studies Foundation is a state budgetary institution, which administers financial support for students.
Implementing the science and higher education policies, ensuring accessibility and quality of higher education, and managing the financial support for students the State Studies Foundation exercises the following functions:
  • Administers State loans and State-supported loans to students;
  • Administers grants to students of the third level of studies in accordance with the procedure prescribed by the Board of the Foundation;
  • Administers social grants to students of schools of higher education studying at the first, second or continuous study levels;
  • Administers the repayment of all or part of the State funds allocated to cover the cost of studies of State-funded students to the State Budget when, in the cases and in accordance with the procedure prescribed by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, State-funded students who are expelled from a school of higher education or terminate their studies must return the said funds to the State Budget;
  • Administers reimbursement of a part of the cost of studies paid over a respective period of studies (which may not exceed the normative cost of studies), in accordance with the procedure and amount set by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, for a part of non-funded students of the first-level or continuous studies who have the best performance record after the first two years (in the event of extended studies - after completing a half of the study programme) and after the remaining years of studies;
  • Administers the granting of State support for the studies of children and grandchildren of expatriates and foreigners of Lithuanian descent at Lithuanian schools of higher education in accordance with the procedure prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Science;
  • Implements the other measures assigned by the Minisiter of Education and Science in order to ensure quality and accessibility of higher education.

Income Tax Benefit for Residents of Lithuania

Lithuanian residents can take advantage of income tax benefit for students and/or their parents, and can refund a part of the input tax of tuition paid income tax. More information about this you can find in the State Tax Inspectorates website at http://www.vmi.lt/en/?itemId=20137.
