On the 21st of October twenty-two Erasmus students, students - mentors and the coordinator Ieva from International Exchange Unit continued on the project designed to inform pupils from high schools about the opportunities provided by Erasmus exchange program.

That Friday they visited “Pagiriai” gymnasium in Vilnius region. This trip was exceptional and ingenuously pleasant because the students were welcomed by loud roaring applause as soon as they entered the school building. The mood was fantastic and the reception was even better.

Young people from the gymnasium introduced their school mentioning the history, customs, special events and celebrations they have every year. Students from Mykolas Romeris University could enjoy the show pupils had prepared: the performance of a choir singing songs about youth and optimism. The circle of dancing people showed how graceful and amusing traditional Lithuanian dances can be.

Visitors from MRU in return shared stories about their Erasmus experiences, gave a few pieces of advice to younger generation about choosing their Erasmus country and introduced to studying options in Mykolas Romeris University. The curious ones were interested in a whole conception of Life Long Learning programme and in the end almost every schoolboy and schoolgirl admitted that they are looking forward for studies and especially the exchange part.

During the coffee break the long conversations were started and Erasmus students could feel like celebrities providing valuable information. Pupils were clearly excited about having the opportunity to talk to active young students from other European countries and mentors from ESN.

The project was highly successful. Participants learned new things, expanded their horizons and exchanged contact details for future communication.
