  • On September 1st, 2010, Mykolas Romeris University Law Faculty Dean Professor Egidijus Jarašiūnas was awarded an honorary Mykolas Romeris University degree during graduation ceremonies for doctoral students. The University‘s Senate on September 1st voted to grant Professor Jarašiūnas an honorary degree for his role in strengthening the legal foundation of the Republic of Lithuania, developing constitutional legal doctrine, fostering academic freedom at the University and educating a new ethically-responsible generation of jurists.

  • On June 24th, 2010, International Association of Universities (IAU) President Professor Juan Ramón de la Fuente was awarded an honorary Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) degree during IAU’s 2010 Conference held at MRU. On October 23rd, 2009, MRU’s Senate voted to grant Professor de la Fuente an honorary degree for significant contributions in developing the international area of higher education and research, strengthening autonomy of universities, advocating quality and ethics in studies & research, and supporting innovations in higher education.

  • On April 23rd, 2009, recognizing his contributions in implementing the Bologna process and strengthening the autonomy of universities, the Senate of Mykolas Romeris University awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa to the President of the European University Association (EUA) prof. Jean-Marc Rapp. He was honoured for his role in fostering and developing the sphere of European Higher Education as well as encouraging innovations in higher education.

  • On January 4th, 2008 the Senate of Mykolas Romeris University awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of Mykolas Romeris University to Mr. Bronisław Komorowski, Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, for the remarkable role in strengthening democracy, cherishing democratic values and developing neighborhood relations.

 

  • On May 19, 2006 the Senate of Mykolas Romeris University awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of Mykolas Romeris University to prof. Goolam Mohamedbhai, President of the International Association of Universities, for significant contribution to cherishing the values of freedom, justice, dignity and solidarity at universities, support of Mykolas Romeris Univerty’s efforts in developing sustained cooperation between the University and world academic community and consolidation of the role of scientific research and experimental development.

 

  • On May 2, 2006 the Senate of Mykolas Romeris University awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of Mykolas Romeris University to prof. dr. Georg Winckler, President of the European University Association, for the remarkable role in cherishing the values of the European universities, assisting and supporting Lithuania while implementing the Bologna reforms, and strengthening University’s involvement in higher education and research policy development at European level, ensuring a strong research activities in Lithuanian universities.
