Mykolas Romeris University is a modern and dynamic European university - the 2nd largest university in Lithuania - with a creative and contemporary research and academic community.
Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral Studies are carried out in compliance to the major principles of Bologna process in the following faculties: Faculty of Law, Faculty of Economics and Finance Management, Faculty of Strategic Management and Policy, Faculty of Public Administration, Faculty of Social Informatics, Faculty of Social Policy and Faculty of Public Security.
The University currently enrolls about 21,000 students.
A total of 200 doctoral students study in the fields of law, psychology, management and administration.
The University offers more than 70 different study programmes. Presently over 80% of study programmes have international accreditation.

The University carries out Joint International Law Master Programme and Joint Master's Programme in Comparative Social Policy and Welfare which offer the graduates better careers opportunities in Lithuania and the EU.
The first joint doctoral thesis prepared by the University’s doctoral student tutored by French and Lithuanian advisors was defended. Dr. Asta Dambrauskaitė was granted a degree by two universities – Mykolas Romeris and Paul Sezan Aix-Marseilles University.

The balance between incoming and outgoing students at the University is one the best among Lithuanian Universities. The number of student and academic staff mobility increases yearly.
While trying to be actively involved in the EU initiatives in the field of science and education, to ensure a proper place and role in development of knowledge economy, to react towards globalisation and internationalisation processes, Mykolas Romeris University promotes scientific research work. It forms favourable assumptions for the scientific research to be linked with the study process.
The researchers perform their work in different trends of the social sciences. Analysis of the economic development and its perspective is carried out in the Faculty of Economics and Finance Management under the research trend “Strengthening of Lithuanian Economic Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Social Cohesions”. With the goal to enrich knowledge about changing quantitative and qualitative characteristics of human resources and to create assumptions based on scientific knowledge in order to modernize social policy, the Faculty of Social Policy develops the research “Development of Human Resources: Challenges for Social Policy”. Effective public administration plays an increasingly important role in the creation of modern and competitive state, therefore the Faculty of Public Administration promotes research “Effective Public Administration” and investigates how values and understandings embedded within state governance structure influence effective public administration. Faculty of Law promotes rule of law under research “Rule of Law and Social Cohesion in the XXI Century”, where the rule of law is seen a a legal institution that guarantees cooperation and cohesion of different society groups. During the last decade, multilevel governance and sustainable development became competitive concepts of social research, therefore the Faculty of Strategic Management and Policy continues to develop these ideas under research “ Multilevel Governance”.

On September 16th 2003, the University joined the ranks of the signatories of Magna Charta Universitatum together with other progressive universities which have achieved significant accomplishments in their activities.

Specially designed courses in the Young Financier’s Academy in the Faculty of Economics and the Young Lawyer's Academy in the Law Faculty are especially popular among secondary school pupils.
The Legal Aid Center and the Crime Victim's Care Association of Lithuania, which provides support for crime victims, has earned the trust of the public and commands the attention of politicians in the more than ten years of existence.
